....mout does burn e' tail... If you never heard that West Indian proverb before den yuh ein a true reading West Indian...enuff said... But it sure applies tuh me today, as me tail sure ah burn. disclaimer inserted here-- If you reading dis far and yuh doan understand de dialect...den go on yuh way and read sumthing yuh understand....this comes off my previous post where I was advise tuh learn English....whey de Anon want me tuh do dat at this late stage ah muh life I ein kno...anyhow continuing...
Yesterday, the hubby and I were invited to an African friend house... so we doned our African grabs and off we go, onlee to find out that the only ones wearing the traditional clothes was the non-africans. What a good laff we had with that. The entertainment was wonderful, good vibes and a good social evening. Dinner was promptly served and boye, oh boye, what a spread it was.
Jollof Rice, Morrocan Rice, Fried Rice, Bammi, Roasted Fish and some other dishes, that I won't do them justice if I tried to spell the names (maybe I should learn one of the 238 Nigerian dialects instead of English). So we filled our plates with a little bit of this and some of that and a lot of the other. Got our glass of wine and sat down to grub. Food tasted good, and we chatted about the variations of African cooking as compared to West Indian cooking. The conclusion drawn was that the Africans and West Indians have much in common, especially with the indegrients, only the method was different with some slight changes. We enjoyed our meal so much that we had seconds and then our little carry out bags.
Fast forward to this morning... All is well, did my morning tri to the procelain chair..No problem. Getting ready for the gym, I realize that I have tuh have another seat in the chair...hummmm sumthing nuh right...Oh well, this will clear it all out. Gone tuh de gym, and in the middle ah class, gotta take another seat in the chair... me nahhh like this too much atall, cause dis ah public seat and not ah private one.... Oh well yuh gotta do wha yuh gotta do...finish up wid class and promptly head home. Things still not feeling too cosher in de stomach.
Then I remembered, the last time, I had an African spread like that I spent 2 days polishing the procelain chair... what did I eat? Too much to remember...plus I got some in de fridge to eat again. So greedy me, instead of throwing out things, I decide to eat one at a time to see who is the culprit. Culprit found! Can't pronounce the name, so I won't try. Come to think I had the same dish yesterday, thoughts of the first time eating came to mind, but decided to try it again, because the first one, was just probably a bad batch. Plus it tasted good --wha sweeten goat mout.. but the same dish prepared by two different people...huummm can it be a bad batch again? besides ah got some in the fridge again... Well, me tail ah burn, so I throwing out all things and keeping away from it in de future cause me nah like de procelain chair dat much..
Sorry gotta go polish de chair...later.........
