nos mudamos

Yup, the move is finished. lordee as de Trinis would say Pressure, is pure pressure and stress we did unda, but we finally did it. We are getting setteled into the new crib. It's smaller than the last place, but nice all the same. No 5 head shower, no double balcony. hey yuh live yuh dreams and move on. Plus we needed to return to reality of small space living for when we get our parole papers, which BTW we still ein see nuh sign of yet..like dem extend we time and ein tell we nuttin.

But ah tell we we learned some lessons from this move. Like when yuh move into a new Apt, make sure yuh write down all the deficiencies and keep the paper. I have a kanck for writitng every thing down and lordee did it sereve us good. cause I nearmost leggo some serious Bajan cuss words pun de owner last week. Next thing we learned is that as expats inna a foreign, nuh rent big azz apt. It took two and half days to paint de damned apt and another two days tuh clean alla dem damned marble floors we had. and trust me, we does keep de place clean, just imagine if we didn't. Yuh see, de problem is that de owner, know that we be expats (foreigners) and we company be paying fuh things, he feel that he coulda tek we fuh a ride. He din wanna maintain the apt while we did in it, cause he wanted we to pay for the maintenance of his property. But Campfyah nuh having dat atall...so me had to pull out me piece ah paper and sey. But looka boss man, yuh ghi we de Apt in dis kinda shape and wid alla deese problems that yuh promise fi de last 2yrs tuh fix, and yuh naaah come and fix dem..Is wha wrong wid yuh? Hubby one the other hand, being he cool, calm and collective self. but Not Campy, I girl, almost had to show me true colors and get black and ghetto on the latino. But all in all, things worked out and we finish moving. ghi he back he apt to sucker another unsuspecting expat.

Now the new place is cool fi now, until new latino dueno (landlord) test muh nerves.
But in moving yuh neva realize all de small things yuh have all bout de place. I swear we had bout 5 boxes ah just stuff, nuttin signigicant, just plain ole stuff we managed to collect ova time. now ah gotta find someplace tuh put alla dis stuff. unless ah just close mi eyse and put it in file 13 aka busara ask trash.

OK, so CANTV ( phone company) tell we bout a week ago that dem gonna connect we service in 5 days, well, dis being Caracas and nothing is as said. we still nuh have service, and I hey sittin in internet cafe. So I just wanna shout the blog peeps and let alla yuh know, we still hey amongs the living and until CANTV have mercy on us. I'll probably check back in a few days to see hwo wunna doing.

Nice to hear from you Camp. Glad the move went well. I have a room full of junk from the last move I did a year ago and I haven't even opened those boxes yet. Does anybody hear the word "Garbage" calling out for those boxes?

That girl better not test your nerves. Something tells me that Campfyah don't play that stuff.

Been a while. For real you can't take no foolishness from certain landlords or they will take you for a roller coaster ride.

I am sure i left a comment on your blog the other day! My mind must be slippin' I'm in overload right about now.

Welcome back and good to hear youv'e moved and started to settle in. I hope you get you inet connection soon. I work with a phone company and I know how they can get sloppy at times especially when the company is a monopoly.

Moving is never easy. I moved less than a year ago and lord, I didn't know I had so much to pack! I was thinking 10 boxes tops, but it turned out to be more like 20. Then of course some of those boxes took weeks to be unpacked. Good luck with the new place.

Yeah, them insignificant things I found a lot of when I went through the stuff I had packed up and left in Grenada when I went to the UK to study. I asked myself what di hell i had saved them for!!

So now I am very brutish about throwing out stuff. If something is sentimental, like it was a gift or something, i dont give it away (unless it's perfume which my nose does not like).

If I can go on the computer and find something I have a print out of, I toss it.

So now I am very minimalistic. Every few months I go through my drawer and toss the bank statements, the credit card statements etc.
