Camindo en Sabana Grande

It's a new week and another opportunity for new experiences, opportunities, some failures, some disappointments and hopefully through all of this some new perspectives on life. We have to take the good with the bad. It's what life is all about, living, loving, learning and laughing and in a lot of cases ignoring.

I started my week with a morning walk down a well know Avenue Sabana Grande. Now, this is out of my norm as my daily exercise is a 5K in a local park here. Anyhow, the last few days, I changes routes for various reasons. While walking, I listen to my music and just take in the scenes around me. But, I've really taken a liking to walking down the Grande. Why, well here is why. The stree is turned into a full fledged illegal shopping area. The are legitimate stores , but the buhenores (street vendors) take business to another level

Like the coffee man here on the right, it's Starbucks Caracas style. You see these fellas/ladies all over the place walking and selling cups of coffee ( a major food staple here). On the left is the entrance to the Blvd, part of which is for pedestrian traffic only.

A game of chest to start the day off to a good start. They have chest tables along the way and anyone can just sit and play. Or to the right you can have your sidewalk breakfast of arepas, empanadas, coffee, chorros, jugo de najarna..you name it, they have it.

Finally the vendors, bring all their goods and set up shop, see there to the left, and everything from tangas to the righ are on sale. What a sight to see in the morning. So that's how my week started. Hope you guys have a good one

Starbucks that is not. Those thongs would make an excellent gifts for our other halves, right guys?

A change in scenery allows you to enjoy your walks more, eliminates the monotony.

The local authorities here are trying to stamp out the illegal street vending here.

I have to agree, those thongs look rather nice!
