So much to do so little time. It just dawned on me that it's already the 5th of Apr and I havn't posted anything this month. But I want you to know that I'm still here digging out.
Saw this article in the De Nation yesterday and thought huummmmm bacchanal brewing between the Trinis and the Bajans over fetting during Lent. Boy times sure have changed. The yutes loosing their moral standards. But in all reality yuh can't put all de blame on the yutes, cause dem not de fete pomoters, dem just gine long fuh de ride.
Time was people respected the period of Lent, Nuh lotta banja( calypso) singing in de house, nuh cussing, nuh fetting...just a solem time for prayer and reflection. But it nuh so now, people fetting all ova de place. But why de Trinis mek sure that carnival finished before Ash Wednesday so to respect the season of Lent, and then go and do dixie in other countires. Double standars I would say. But like the Good Reverend says, it's the Barbados gov't that give de entertainers permission to come perform in Barbados. I say double standards on the Bajan government side too...
But I not gonna labor too much on this topic, just a lil sumthing to keep wunna going. Bajans and Trinis already got confusion ova de Trinis thiefin we flying fish, and buying up evathing in Barbados including de Barbados Nation Bank, now dem coming fuh Bacchanal on de Rock during Lent...what next...Lordee looka muh Trini friends coming fuh muh....
Lata peoples.

Yup can't blame the yutes-is not dem promoting the thing.I believe soon we will be eating meat Good Friday:)
is not teifing if the fish prefer to fete in trinidad than in barbados. :-)
on the feting note I never really noted any greater degree of solemnity at lent since maybe i was a little boy. it just seemed that people do what they want when they want.
I guess those who are not Lentin can do some limin.
Wait, Doc, you never hear about the flying fish issue? I all blog bout it one time. And I thought you was reading my blog! :-(
Camp, it looks like the religion thing is taking a back seat just now. Hedonism is the name of the game.
