... the mice will play and yes, the cat or dawg in my case (good dawg) is away and this cat is playing, or is she. The hubby made an unexpected business trip this morning and will be gone for a few days. Of course during times like these I relish the time alone. yes, every woman should have some time for herself without the hubby that dosen't include bad vibes. We are individuals and must exercise that individual right to peace, solitude, tranqulity and a steady flow of the toilet seat being in its rightful place from the hubby every so often.
So did I play or not? Well let's see. I rested, the phone didn't ring and I watched a movie in the early evening, something I never do. I went to the gym tonight, another almost never, I'll tell you all about that later and now I'm truly playing. Yes, being on the computer at night is definitely playing for me. You see, I reserve the nights for the hubby and our personal time, so I'm never online. catch me in the morning or in the evenings but hardly at night. But at times like these, I just hang out and surf all the sites imaginable. I also enjoy listening to VOB 92.9, right now it's Night Delight a talk show with Sharon... quite intersting. Usually Sharon reads a letter that someone sends her regarding some issue they are dealing with and the Barbados audience calls in with their views and advise on the issue. It takes me back home with all the cool natural unedited Bajan accents and comments. In addition, I catch up on the latest Bajan music and now that Crop Over is around the corner, I'm getting the latest riddims.
During the time the hubby is away, the kitchen is off limits except for boiling water for tea and going into the fridge. absolutely nothing gets cooked. So after the gym, I stopped and picked up some sushi, took a nice cool shower with my awesome Bath & Body Works lavender & plumrosa scrub. I tell wunna, men and women alike, if you've never tried B&B body scrubs, you don't know what pleasures you are missing. and I sat down to a relaxing dinner followed by a nice cold German Pilsen. ahhh the dawgs away and the cat is living the life of luxury. Now don't get me wrong, when the hubby is here, dinners are always shared together and the evenings are relaxing but it's just something else relaxing alone. Plus you get the bed all for yourself. I spread out in the center of the bed with the remote and just chill. Tomorrow I'll probably just sit out on the balcony under the stars and relax with a glass of wine.
OK, so now the gym. Ah tell yuh going on vacation should come with some warning signs. Signs that tell you, do not over indulge in the pleasures and trappings of being on vacation because your vacation will be short lived but your return to the gym will seems like a life sentence. I returned to the gym yesterday after a month away... talk bout soreness and pain! then today was a tae-boxing class. tomorrow will be body sculpting with weights and more weights. wunna pray fuh me. All dem rotis, doubles and I love me some Trini doubles, my mom's baking and the woman can bake her behind off. Sweet bread, pone, conkies, and ah wicked cranberry bread with whole wheat flour and all the trappins of West Indian cooking. To make matters worst. My mom lives opposite a Jamacian resturant Feeding Tree big up the the crew at Feeding Tree. Those fellas can cook. So being it's summer, we can smell the aroma of the oxtail, cow heel soup, jerk chicken, stew chicken ect. permeating through our windows even before we are awake. Then there is the breakfast from Feeding Tree, ackee, bake, porriage and the list continues. so I would just throw on some clothes real quick, run down stairs and get my food. Can you tell that my vacation consisted of eating and more eating.
So now I'm suffering the effects of one of the deadly sins, gluttony. I should do a blog about the 7 deadly sins. Now off to the gym I go, drinking my water, limiting my calories and carbs intake so I can return to the normal me. But it was all good, we live once and only once and vacations are meant to be lived, loved, laughed and enjoyed. Suffer the effects later. Orlando next week, here I come.
