lunes

It's been a whole three days since I last posted.. Camp gotta do better than that. But that could also be a sign that not a damned thing of interest happening inna de Camp. So let me get some kinda something written in the name of effort.

Since my last sighting, the hubby has returned from his trip. He had a good time-- the man getting to used to the happenings and lifestyle of NYC. So hubby is in NYC for a few days and my man just doing ah one set ah shoppping and movements around on the subway system and thing so like he ah pro. But check this. hubby ah go shop inna Macys, come and call me and sey, he go Macys ah looking for something to bring me, but he couldn't find nothing. Now tell me wha dis man been drinking while inna de Big Apple. In of all stores, Macy's and he saying he couldn't find nuttin for de Camp. Macy's dat got a big jewlery section wid gold, diamonds, rubies, saffires, did ah say diamonds..OK..Macys, dat got a vicious handbag collection section, Macys dat got a perfume section fuh days... yes, sed Macy's dat got a Fossil section my favorite watch brand. and de man sey he couldn't find nuttin fi de Camp. But Camp not vex, cause wha goes around comes around and Camp time fi travel widout de hubby gonna come.

But It's All Good. hubby however did bring back some treats fuh de Camp. My man bought me back some local Caribbean treats. Sugar cake, rock cake, Sugar cane, TnT doubles (laawwd ah feel muh mout watering now), current Slices, coconut slices.. .well Campie did in heaven. Yes, I woman like ah sweet food. Mother baked one of her vicious cranberry breads and hubby even organized a veggie stew from Feeding Tree restaurant. Remember ah told allyuh bout Feeding Treee, de Jamacian resturant dat's across from my moms apt. The veggie stew was vicious fi days, I finished it off today for lunch.

Now talking about the other treats. Sugar Cane. Most of us remember the days of our yute sucking sugar cane. We'll steal into the cane field, break the cane, and just sit on the edge of the field, sucking to our tummies delight. Of course, the stealing and breaking the cane was the joy of the moment. the joy of not getting caught, the joy of going deep into the field for the biggest juiciest piece of cane, the joy of know that there is more for your pleasure, ,the joy of being a girl and knowing that you can hang withthe boys and steal the cane. For those who lived in the city, or were too scared to steal into the field, they simply waited until the cane cart drove by and pulled the cane off the side. those were the good ole days. The days of our yute, when all people worried about was us vagabones stealing their various fruits.

So the hubby bout us back a piece of sugar cane, and on Saturday, I just sat in the balcony and savoried the moment of sucking on a soft, juicy piece of sugar cane. Of course I had a current slice for breakfast and a peppa doubles for lunch. What more can a girl ask for? The simple pleasures of life. The temporary insanity of hubby going into Macy's and not finding anything, quickly faded away for the moment. I saved the last doubles for later and another piece of sugar cane. Boye how do we miss those things, we take so forgranted growing up with.

Anyhow, yesterday was church as usual, we hosted an international luncheon and that went well, except for the few people who sees food and looses their senses. People got the average size paper plate filled to the hills and still want you to put more food on the plate. I'm sure many people had serious upset stomachs last night.

Today, I resumed my health eating habits (except for the last doubles I have to eat) and exercise. I got some pesas I need to pedier (loose). A trip to the birthland coming soon, so Camp gotta look a certain kinda way.
